We’re not just good at drainlaying. We’re great at it.

At Peter Hansen Drainage, we do residential, commercial & civil drainlaying, drainage alterations & repairs, septic tank design & installation, & fix blocked & broken drains.

Here’s what you can expect when you work with us:

We do things the right way. Every time.

This means we won’t cut corners on your work.

One of the frustrating things about this industry is sometimes contactors compromise best practice to get work done on the cheap. This means a shoddy job.

With the bulk of drainage work completed underground, it’s not always obvious at the time. And the client is left at risk of expensive stressful repairs months or years later.

At Peter Hansen Drainage, we do things right so it doesn’t go wrong. We never compromise quality. We stand firmly behind our work.

We’re as invested in your project as you are. Our reputation depends on it.

We treat our customers
how we’d like to be treated.

We know you need to get on with your build & the more exciting things.

That’s why we do all we can to make the process easy.

We take care of everything. Even guiding you through council requirements.

Keeping you informed every step of the way.

Treating you & your property with care.

Most importantly, we’re straight up about what you need (& what you don’t).

You’ll get professional, friendly expertise. So you get the right solution for your site & situation.
Without unnecessary additional costs.

Affordable pricing. Itemised quotes. No hidden extras.

No unexpected delays. It’s our promise.

We know how annoying it is dealing with a tradie who never shows up when he says he will.

That’s why, if we say we’ll be there, we’ll be there.

We’ll keep you in the loop. Always.

We also make a point of being polite. Accommodating to other trades onsite. So you stay on schedule.

………..No unexpected delays.

How we got started…

Hey, I’m Peter Hansen. I learned drainlaying from my Dad. I spent years on the tools. Learning everything there is to know about drainage & septic tanks.

When I was in my 20’s, my Dad suddenly passed away. It was a very hard time. I still think of him most days.

I ran my Dad’s company for many years.

I’ve lived in North Canterbury all my life. It’s where I met my wife Claire. It’s where we’ve made our home as our family has grown & we’ve had our 6 kids.

We’ve always felt a strong connection with the community here & in our spare time we breed prize-winning Jersey Cows.

With 18 years experience in drainage, working on 3,500+ projects, there’s not much I haven’t seen. I was ready for a new challenge.

In 2016, we decided it was time to start our own company. It’s taken time & energy. But it’s rewarding to see how far we’ve come.

Our team goes above & beyond…

Our loyal team of 10 guys (& Kim in the office) is highly skilled, knowledgeable, & experienced in local conditions.

Fully certified, & fully equipped with the latest technology & equipment. So we get your project done quickly & accurately.

Peter heads up the team. He handles quoting & the job schedule.

Andy is our Operations Manager. He keeps the jobs well organised & the work flowing onsite.

Kim is our admin & marketing expert. She pushes paper around her desk all day.

When our customers are happy, we’re happy.

“On time, on budget and good communication”

Don Hunt

Peter and his team were great. On time and on budget. And good communication with us – they do this especially well. We really enjoyed working with them. No problems!

“Great advice and great service”

Justine Hamilton

We wished to use a local contractor as we do with most work. We have known Peter and his family for years and knew his reputation was excellent. Sure enough, his local expertise and communication was great. The team turned up when they said and were nice to deal with. Pricing was competitive too. If you want great advice and great service, talk to Peter.
